Ranakpur Jain Temple
Ranakpur Jain Temple is located in Desuri Tehsil near Sadri in Pali District. It’s secluded in the valley of Aravali mountain ranges in Rajasthan. Ranakpur named after Rana Kumbha, who donated the land for the Place. Ranakpur is 90 km far from Udaipur. Ranakpur is also known for its Jain Temple. It is also said to be the amazing and spectacular of Jain temples.
Ranakpur Jain temple is dedicated to “Tirthankara Adityanath ” as per the local people ,“Dharma Shah” who was a Jain businessperson, started the construction of Ranakpur Jain Temple in the 15th century with divine vision. The temple honors Adityanath as the first Tirthnkara according to Jain Cosmology. This Temple constructed in a 48000 Sq ft area and there are 1400 Beautiful carved pillars.
There are many temples of Jain religion dedicated to different Tirthankaras in Jainism like “Adinath, Parasnath and Chaumukha Temple” with marvellous architecture. Also there is a temple of Hindu religion “Amba mata Temple and Surya Temple(Sun Temple)” which is managed by the Royal Family nowadays. Chaumukha Temple is four – faced temple and its dedicated to Adinath, who was the first Tirthankara of Jains. This temple is having four Gates to get into the main chamber. Another major attraction is “Parasnath temple” , This Temple is famous for its engraved windows. Parasnath Temple is also known as “Patriya Temple”.
